Our Staff
Ken Taber,
principal of a Grand Rapids based career management firm, has
received the highest distinction in his field of expertise. He was
awarded the prestigious "Fellow Practitioner” from The National
Outplacement Institute of San Rafael, California. As such, he is
recognized as "an advocate of excellence" who has developed new
knowledge in the outplacement field.
With over 25 years of consulting in leadership development, most of
those years involved coaching supervisors and executives,
particularly those in transition. He is well known among corporate
clients as a master human relations and leadership coach with
talents in developing the emotional components of managerial
judgment intelligence and in organizational development with unique
applications of Transactional Analysis. Ken is a MI licensed
clinical social worker, who is on the on-call mental health staff
for MetroHealth, the Adjunct Faculty of GRCC, and a practicing
clergyperson.

Ken Soper
Ken is a National Certified Counselor (N.C.C.) and National
Certified Career Counselor (N.C.C.C.). Like Ken Taber, he is one of
just 800 people worldwide with both of these certifications
(National Board of Certified Counselors, Inc.). He is also a
Certified Career Development Facilitator Instructor and Master
Career Counselor (M.C.C.), recognized for his expertise and skills
by the National Career Development Association - a premier national
career counseling professional association. In the summer of 2000,
he completed a five-year assignment as the Career Counselor/Job
Search Coach for the JTPA-funded Career Transitions Program at the
Area Agency on Aging of Western Michigan, Inc., where he worked with
individuals 40+ years old who have been dislocated from their
previous employment or who were under-employed -giving him special
expertise with people age 40+. His consulting work has also led him
to consult and teach in four colleges and universities in West
Michigan. He is also well known for his seminar, "Finding A Job You
Will Love", which he presents 5-7 times annually at the Kentwood
Branch Library of the Kent District Library system.
Ken is a 1979 graduate of Richard Bolles' internationally acclaimed
"Life/Work Planning" workshop, and one of career counselors in North
America who are listed annually in Richard Bolles' all-time
best-selling book on job hunting and career changing, What Color Is

Carol A. Johnson
LMSW, MSW, MCH, BFA
Visual Designer/ Clinical
Expressive Therapist/ Coach
Carol
holds a Masters in Clinical Social Work
and a Masters Certificate in Holistic
Health from Western University with a
Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from
Kendall College of Art and Design. Her
art and clinical skills work hand and
hand with people to help them find new
direction, insights and better
understanding toward personal wellness
in the aftermath of loss and disruptions
in the workplace. Being an artist and
therapist, Carol assist individuals and
groups in finding new answers to old
problems in a creative ways that result
in different thinking than what created
those problems. She works with different
age groups, pay grades, and literacy
capabilities in for-profit corporations,
non-profit agencies and private
settings. Her specialties are
leadership development, consensus
decision making in work teams, and
building inclusion behaviors among work
colleagues. As an African American
artist, Carol enjoys the richness of
many different styles and cultures to
create personal coping tools to meet
life challenges and positive new
tomorrows. |

Ginny Dusseau
Ginny brings over 20 years of experience in the counseling and
educational fields. In addition, she has served as a consultant and
trainer to business and industry, health care facilities and
colleges in the areas of chronic pain, stress management and
employee health promotion and weliness. Ginny has conducted group as
well as individual outplacement counseling. Ginny holds a BA in
Psychology from Michigan State University, an MA in Counseling from
Western Michigan University, and is fully licensed by the State of
Michigan as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). |
